What are heat treatments

Heat treatment of metals refers to the processing cycle consisting of high-temperature phases followed by cooling, in order to give the metals special mechanical and technological characteristics. 

To correctly carry out this type of metal treatment it is necessary to know the equilibrium structures at certain temperatures of the material being processed, so as to take the best care of the cooling or heating speed. 

It is precisely the role played by the speed of the two phases that determines the correct outcome of the operation, with the strengthening of the treated metal and its characterization.
